The kick panels in front are a giveaway.

Might be a fun set, though... :-)

Also..... check the lid on the washer......

DEFINITELY not a GM set.

WCI all day long...

Looks like a lot of buttons! I must say, even though I know that we are not supposed to like WCI, those tall black control panels with lots of buttons do look good!

Who has this set?

As much as we hate them, these machines are FUN. My grandparents had a set pretty much just like this at their cabin and I used to LOVE them. It was such a fun washer to watch.

A few years ago I tried to save a 1-18 look-alike WCI machine. Had a window lid to boot and that really cool agitator. Was shoo'd off the Bl*wes property before I could get my hooks in it. Certainly looked like a fun machine.

Now that we've had 28 years to get over the shock/horror of WCI's takeover, I have to admit I'd love to have a circa 1981 Frigidaire set. Cool agitator, lightly indexing tub, Westy-style lint filter (although they spewed foamy suds at the beginning of the rinse cycle, which was annoying...)

And I think they still had the full-circle fill, right?

If i can recall right they had what was called the Halo Fill. One series had 4 ports for the water spray then they got rid of it. And with the washer pictured above they had a 13 port Halo Spray Fill system. Plus it has curved vanes at the base ala their HydroSurge Agitator. That agitator does clean well and turns a good size load over. The basket is the Titan Tub...aka..plastique. Capacity is lacking in the washer but the dryer is a GM design of the 1-18 Flowing Heat dryer. Nice and big drum. They should have kept that design instead of the dryers design they have today that remind me of the Westinghouse dryers.
