I got these Maytag used, don't know how old they are. Maybe some Maytag specialists can help? Can include serial/model number if needed.

The dryer is from the very first generation of Maytags which had the dial moved to the right side of the panel, so that would be late 1970s. the washer could be anywhere 1985 or so until the Dependable Care style came out in 1993 or 1994.

Dependable care is the maytag washer & dryer built long before 1970!

The dryer is slightly older than the washer. The dryer is from the early 80s, and the washer, mid 80s.

Washer is late 1986 or newer (orbital trans). The dryer is very early 80's.

I use that designation because that is exactly what was put on the control panel for this style of washer AND dryer starting in 1994. One needs to be able to make some sort of dinstinguishing factors about each series of control panels Maytag came out with. GEEZ!!!

The dryer is a DE710 and it has the Electronic Dry control. There is no timed dry cycle. There are 2 dryness settings...Dry and More Dry. 3 Temps Regular and Delicate and Airfluff. Good dryer. That model Maytag was the first dryer I had from them and I bought it in 1984 to match the A510 washer. They are still running today...my aunt has them. I remember that the dryer was pricey at $500 and at that time I wasnt making much.
The dryness sensitivity is something that this dryer kinda lacks. Its not as sensitive as lets say a Whirlpool of this era. It does have a drum light. The washer is Orbital and early 90's.

Ok, so I gather the dryer is made between 1980-84. And I believe it's DE710. The washer is between 1985-1994.

LAT 8840

The washer is a 8840. I picked up a pair last week. I took it a part and the inside tub has the slots for the lint filter but they are plugged. My agitator has the lint filter in it.

The washer is the same one my mother has. Purchased in 1992, when the 1970 died.

I had this same exact washer. I purchased it new in 1992. I sold it in 1998 for front loader Neptune. It was a great washer when I had it. The 1998 Neptune is still running at my brothers house.
