Happy May day (a day early, and May day is Lei day in Hawaii),

Don Shier (Jetaction) and Rich Maher (Golittlesport) came by last night and we had a fantastic time. Dinner was enjoyed by all while the reel to reel played through my 1965 GE console. We then headed to the Laundry/Game Room and Garage to do several loads of laundry.

At one point, all the machines were going, the 67 LK loaded with whites, the 64 GE V14 Filter Flo with sturdy cotton and the 94 last of its kind Filter Flo with wash n wear. We also did a "nuisance" load in the mini basket.

Rich and Don kept music going, making selections on the 1979 Seeburg SMC2 Phoenix while the clothes agitated and spun (see www.alwaysjukin.com... for an article on this jukebox).

With laundry folded, Rich and Don headed out around 11. We all had a great time. Don sees Cher tonight at the Hollywood Bowl and I wish I was going. Don will probably post about his trip when he gets back home.

Hope you enjoy the photos (April 29 Wash-in photos are #'s 18-22).

W O W ! ! !

Looked through your goodies. What great taste in goodies!!! The jukeboxes are beautiful and I had no idea that there was anyone else here that collected console stereos. We have to get together at some point and compare notes. By the way, the boys are a perfect compliment to your exquisite collection! Mark

Glad to see you guys had a good time the other night - I'm sure Don is having the time of his life tonight at Cher's last concert of the "Never Can Say Goodbye" tour!

forget the washers...you have a 66 Toronado,,,I'm packing up and moving in LOL. One of my dream cars to say the least. I'll bring you another one of those GE wall mount stereos.. I've got one, with the fold out speakers, circular dial and signal star tuning light..great great sound. I caught a hint of Cadillac in there as well. What year/model is it..hidaway headlights...ummm not good on Cadillacs, and a 65 ish Ford Country Squire? I still kick myself because last year I was driving home north of Minot ND and came into this little town/village and there was this beautiful 1968 Olds 98 convertible, creamy color, great shape, sitting for sale in front of some farm implements dealer, along with a not in good shape 67 Tbird 4 door. (another favorite of mine) I wished now I had bought the thing, but the then hassel of getting it home or someone to come down and drive my car home put me off then.

Cher

I was at the concert, it was fantastic! Ended with a fireworks show and words lit in fire that said "Follow THIS you Bi****s"

She covered something from every era, 60's to current.

Darn

Missed ANOTHER one. Wash-ins are rare out here, we don't have basements, so activities are limited. I notice new space uses good old-fashioned double-hung windows instead of modern aluminum ones. Cool.

Thanks for all the kind words!

Thanks for all the compliments on my garage/laundry-game room. Getting that space designed and built has been a dream of mine for a long time. Always glad to have folks over when they come into town. If any washer folks are ever out in the LA/Long Beach area, send a note and hopefully you can make it by.

On the cars, my 66 Toro is one of 53 built with the bucket seat option and the only known one left. The Country Squire is a 67, which I took out for a short drive yesterday. The Eldorado is a 67, first use of FWD for that model.

Sounds like Cher was fantastic. I am sure Don had a great time.

Thanks again for the kind words,

Mike is that your Thunderbird in picture #6? Do you like it? I like them and have thought of getting one next time if I find a good used one.

Mike, we have to get together sometime

Just looked through your photos. Great stuff. We too have a Seeburg, the "Quadraphonic" model. Interestingly, also collect cars, including a 1961 Pontiac Bonneville Safari.

Excellent collection you have!

Quadraphonic

Hi,

Thanks for the kind words. Here is a link with some info on Seeburg Quadraphonic.

Would like to see Qaud box (is it a sunstar or the entertainer cabinet style?).

Seeburg fun

Mike, it is neither. Mine is different than showed on the site you referenced. It looks like the SPS2 Matador but the top panel is not an image like the bottom panel. It has in big letters Quadraphonic Sound Seeburg written on it. Further, the control panel all the way to the right (with some green markings/buttons on it) is not in there; instead, its just a big Seeburg plaque. Very strange.

I will take a pic and post.

Pic of oddball Seeburg

For your interest.....lower light is burned out, have to get a new one. It needs work, it did play a while back, but you had to use the remote "barkeep" switch, now it just hums! But it does look cool.
