I need to make room for new arrivals, and this has been in my way far too long. If anyone is interested I will offer it for silent auction, 7 days, ending Saturday 11-22 @9pm EST.

This is a working but unrestored washer. Last time I used it had a slight leak at the pump. Has a brand new replacement Fountain Filter Agitator, bought from Larry @ Modern Parts at a cost of over $100.......

Overall condition is very good to excellent. Sold as-is where-is. Payment is due 7 days after auction end. Will store for 30 days. After that time period item will be resold and no refund will be given. Buyer and price will remain private. Email me with offers @ JimmyCFO@aol.com

1st childhood washer:

 AWESOME! I don't know the exact model Hotpoint we had, but this washer is the year and basic series of our very first washer. We had it from October of 64 to September of 72. I only had one slide photo of it which is now MIA. Other than that I have a very fuzzy memory of it, which leaves me without any way to recall exact features or sounds. It is good to finally see one of these here. Why were these called Sillhouettes? It is a very interesting name. I cannot take it, but I hope somebody in the club does. These are rare finds apparently. and hopefully somebody will take it and post a video.

What are the holes under where the filter pan rests and the holes with the pink stoppers in them? Is that agitator intended for the HP version of the mini-basket?

That's a great machine. We had a 64 model just below this TOL (no lighted console) from 64 to 73 when we moved into my great aunt's house and began usuing her 59 GE filter flo. When we moved out of the old house that Hotpoint stayed behind as part of the sale of the house and was still going strong although the timer motor had become extremely noisy. Ours had a black agitator as this one probably had originally.

Like Mine

 I have that Hotpoint Set that I got a few years ago which has the black agitator and is a few years newer than this one. My console doesn't have as many bells and whistles and the capacity is just a bit larger. I still need to work on the spin brake because she wants to spin while she's agitating. I have to say that I like at Blue agitator better than the black one. Jimmy, you always come up with some great finds and I have you to thank for a few of mine! Somebody's going to have alot of fun with that machine!!! Todd

Is this like an old-school Beam/Queen but with a spiralator? Does the agitation compare to the older Hotpoints?

Turnover

 These really turn the clothes over well and the fountain filter is fun because it filters on the forward and the reverse stroke, unlike the Norge machines. Its also fun to hear and feel as it throws the spin water against the outer cabinet (which is the outer tub on these). Todd

This machine is very much like my grandmothers. I have very little memory of it, other than the agitator, sounds, and the control panel (which were not like this one, but I am pretty sure it was from the 60's). How possible is a video?? Thanks for the pics, and the flashback. :)

Did anyone else notice that the dial control knob on this Hotpoint is very similar to the dial control knob on the Philco washers.
