The W1918 is a great machine; but I don't know if $700 is such a steal, even if it included a Frig dryer worth maybe $100. I got my 1918 for $200, and it was in near mint condition. Maybe I got lucky?

Still, considering you can't buy any 220v Miele new in the USA any more, these older 220v machines in good shape are probably a catch even for $ hundreds.

$700 is the least I have found so far in the ATL. My set I got for $1200, and the 1926 set I got for $900. I think that with at least 4 high-end appliance dealers in ATL, there are definitely more around.

Maybe I got lucky, but now I have four working Miele washers and two dryers for a total outlay of about $700. I did scour the local Craigslist for a couple years to get them, though.

The 1918 is the most recent; the other three are 1065's. Lower max spin speed, but they go up to 200F.

I've got the idea:

That the Frigidaire, made my Electrolux was another Front-Load Washer and not a Dryer...

Good Luck if you do go ahead and get these Machines.

Due to the price of Miele's/New, I would have to check out Craigslist as well, however I've been more of an ASKO Washer & Dryer Fan, which I would also check out Craigslist for, so they would be my selection, between the 2-Brands...

This is naturally just my opinion and preference of Brands.

I've seen Asko washers and dryers on Craigslist as well.

I passed on a pair going for $100 a few years ago. I decided I'd rather wait to have a Miele. But I did like the Asko door sealing design.

I would love a Miele but it would take a far lower asking price to hook me.

Offer them $300 for just the washer and I'll have it shipped here - there are none around these parts and I'm curious to see what all the fuss is about ;-)

THIS MACHINE IS MY ALL TIME DREAM WASHER, THAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT SINCE 1992 AND HAD TWO CHANCES BUT THE TIME WAS NOT RIGHT. I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PRICE I WOULD GET THEM. IT IS A TRUE MIELE BEFORE THEY AMERICANIZED THEM.. SO LIKE GREG I GUESS AT ONE POINT IN MY LIFE I WILL BE A MIELE OWNER LOL.... BEST OF LUCK TO YOU THE 1918 ROCKS!

MY BEST FEATURES ON THE MACHINE.

1. GENTIL WASH BUTTON ( YOU CAN USE THAT ON COTTONS WHICH I LIKE ON SOME SPECIAL COTTON FABRICS I WANT TO WASH ON HOT BUT WANT THE DRUM RYTHEM REDUCED)

2. WATER PLUS ( I LIKE A HIGH WATER LEVEL)

3. YOU CAN AUGMENT SETTINGS

HOPE THAT U GET IT ... DARREN K

Mieles from the Lab

Miele is replacing our equipment in the lab. I have a washer and a dryer to sell, but I have not been told how we will sell them. Apparently since they were donated I can not sell them on craigslist or ebay. It seems a local auction through the state, which I doubt will yeild any signigicant bids is the way we might have to go.

any way I have a white 5K, 170 model, don't remember the model and the matching dryer. I will also have a premier plus dishwasher, a Bosch stainless steel front dishwasher, a 27 inch Miele oven in blask, a 30 inch electric ceran cooktop with electronic controls, a steam oven and coffee system (220 V). I will post more details when I find out how I can dispose of them.
