My mom's husband had that touchpad model for a short time when he moved into his previous house. He said it was horrible, didn't clean anything, it was replaced with a BOL Bosch dishwasher which lasted 3 years and then completely bit the dust. Now there is a BOL Whirlpool made by Frigidaire! BLECH!!!

Give me a Break!

How could someone bad mouth a Selectra that "didnt clean anything" and then see just how crappy the incredible Bosch machine did as far as service life. And should we even bother talking about the washability of the frigidaire unit. Sure if it runs 3 hours, it should do a decent job!
I will be willing to guess that the Kitchenaid was already nearly 20 years old when it started to fail in the wash category and did that person ever consider that the washarm support was probably worn out? That was really the only weak spot in an incredibly well engineered washing system. So well engineered, that just about every other manufacturer has imitated it in one form or another.

I have seen many machines of that vintage seem to crap out and all it was was the washarm support(top housing)that was worn out preventing water from going into the lower washarm, and sending all the water to the top.

If the circuit board is still working on this one, it would certainly be a great machine to have as well as a definite conversation piece.
