Broom's in the shop. You'll have to go see the blacksmith for new shoes and go get it on your own.

Yup, that's THE 800!!!! The older "style" of the two, the one with the metal handle in the lid to open it.

AWESOME!

The dryer is great, but those two washers are something to behold. The Whirlpool must be a very late 60s, possibly a 1970 model. The Kenmore is from 1971. That was the only year where Kenmore models were issued with the curved metal lid handle, and visible built in lid switch.

Frontloadotomy: Yes, this was JasonL's favorite washer that he would have given his right arm for. However he has one now, except his is the 1972/3 version with the notched handle.

Have a good one,
James

I agree!!! That is a rare Two-Speed Model. Hope someone saves that Coppertone workhorse! We love ours; on the Super speed it really moves the air (great for a long vent run like we have). All porcelain finish plus window to boot!!!
Paging Gordon...Paging Dr. Kenmore64!!! Hard to tell but do you think that WP TL is a lighted controls model? Do you have any workplace connections to ship to Charlotte?

Stainfighter:

On the Whirlpool Washer (either late 1960's or early 1970's), the Whirlpool Washer is NOT lighted.

The dryer probably has a lighted panel on it. But I am not REALLY sure about that. I do know that THAT 1965 Dryer is a deluxe model as it does have two speeds on it (which is something that is rare on a dryer).

That 1969-71 Kenmore Model 800 DOES have a lighted panel. I am familiar with that machine as I have pictures of that model in my 1969 and 1971 Sears Catalogs. That version does have the curved metal handle on the lid. A 1972 version of this machine (the last year they made this particular version of the Model 800) has a notched lid.

Hopefully, I have been helpful here.....

Two air-flow speeds wasn't all that rare on Whirly dryers during a particular period of time back then. Family friends had a mid-lower end control-box model with three temps (hi, low, air), two speeds, and time-only cycles. My paternal grandparents had a Supreme (upper-middle) 2-speeder with variable heat and thermostat auto-dry cycles. These were mid- and late-1960s models. Far as I know, Super speed was normal airflow. Gentle was reduced.

Agitator pic:

The agitator that is between the blue/white Surgilator, and the gold Rotoswirl is a bit hard to make out. Is it a str8 vane, or Roto Swirl? Thank you in advance.

Have a good one,
James

James -

I'm pretty sure that's a str8 vane. The ribs on the side are separated further apart like they are on a straight vane. For whatever reason, the Super Roto got more side ribs than the straight vane.
