Greg, Skyler and Terry came to visit this weekend and Greg was kind enough to bring his beautiful Apex brochures for me to scan. Here are the washer/dryer/dishwasher/waste-a-matic brochures in pdf format (68mb). The vacuum brochures have been posted on Vacuumland.

I once had the Apex 6000 washer ***sniff***

Neato!

So, is the Apex 6000 washer the ubiquitous "bouncing basket" one?

Maybe you should visit NC ... I pass this every day on my way to and from work...

Very Cool!

Love the scans! Thanks Robert and Greg!
What year were the brochures from? The reason I am asking is because the prices were kind of up there for this time period.
I love the dryers as much as the washers. Was Apex building their own dryers?
I wish Apex was still around because I like the name so much!
Thanks for the scans. Fun!
Don't cry Robert...I am sure another Apex will turn up somewhere. Hopefully for you. What was the model you found way back when?
Brent

Robert, knowing what you know now about vintage appliances, and what you have accomplished thus far, do you think you could have saved the Apex you scrapped years ago?

I certainly hope that you (or us) find an Apex for your collection some day soon.

Totally, it was the main bearing that needed changing, back in 1996 I didn't know much about what bearings were. :(

Well Robert, just sometimes Dreams do come true!!! you never know....and when you do find it, you have it whipped apart, super serviced, and put back together before you can say "Betwitched" ...

Looks an interesting machine apart from the obvious wash action, with the extra Fluffing progs...What spin would it have been ???600rpm ish??

Happy hunting, Mike

The tub "pulsated" at 610? Wow, that must have been something to see. At that speed, and the ribs of the tub being opposite the rotation, did that much water get thrown out? Do you know at what angle they tub was?

Portable vs. Builtin

It looks like the Portable Dishwasher has more of a spray arm but all of the builtin models appeared to have impellers. I find that interesting. Has anyone seen a Portable Apex model? Also think it is interesting that the portable model still used the Hot Water tank to service the dishwasher.

A Great Big Thank-You Hug is being sent to Roger, Greg, Robert, and Don. I had such a fun visit with all of you. It is always so much fun when we get together. Terry

Does anyone have pictures of this get-together? It's always so nice to see those on here. It makes you feel good to see other club members enjoying each other's company :)

Ralph (Chach), only the model 891 had a wash-arm type of spray. All other models (electric sink, free-standing, and "built-in") were all impeller type. Remember, our webmaster has an Apex dishwasher.

I didn't realize that.

I assumed all models would be the same. I have seen Robert's Apex, I'd sure like to see one of the portable models.
