As a past regional appliance service manager for one of the major brands, it was a Christmas gift, indeed, to find this site. Many of the restored washers and dryers documented here are treasures and all of you are to be commended for your time and dedication to the cause.
I parted company with a bolt down, 1981, Dexter (Philco-Bendix) Commercial Duty, Model: WCY2, with 3 speed transmission. However, I must admit that I have been delighted with the performance of its replacement, a Frigidaire Model FWTB69RGSO. From my experience in the service/repair trade, there is no comparison to these newer Front-Load washers with electronically controlled motor-drive systems when it comes to eliminating transmissions, pulleys and multiple belts, along with providing high spin speeds for optimum water extraction. However, the newer machines lack the character and unique design that each manufacturer featured on their models from the past decades.
On a routine basis, I check Ebay for old clothes washer service manuals.
I am currently interested in locating Westinghouse or White-Westinghouse 3-belt drive system service/repair manuals. Also, any information is appreciated leading to service/repair manuals for the Bendix Front-Load washers (with suspension) from the late 1950's.
Thanks for any possible help with the repair manuals!
