I also picked this one up yesterday. I was told it's only about 5 years old, can anyone help confirm this, please? While this one works, it has a couple problems. One, once the water inlet valve (cold) opens for the fill, it does not close again... the water just keeps flowing, but I know that going in. I looked up a replacement inlet valve and it's $100. When playing with it last night I also discovered it has a leak from somewhere. I will explore that today. Yes it has a couple problems, but for the price ($20), I think I can afford to mess with it! |

You can always save it for parts or see what is out there that is on CL cheap that has other problems and then rob the parts to fix that one. |

I decided to take advantage it having such a HUGE capacity and washed one of my dirty(!!) quilted moving/packing blanket pads. I filled the tub and rinsed manually via external hoses. During the rinse I noticed it was moving more slowly then before and then when trying to spin. the pump was hardly moving at all. Turns out it also needs belts too, or maybe they were just getting wet...? You can see the wetness around the pump in the in-set. |

Place a piece of tape over the brand name and you've got yourself a fine washer! |

OK so I only paid 20 bucks for this washer. It has a HUGE capacity and operationally seems for go through the motions as it's supposed to. But it needs... > A new water valve (about $110 w/shipping), > New belt ($21) > Tighten/seal the drain hose from the pump ($0) > A good drying out and cleaning of the rust(?) I just looked on an appliance parts website and discovered they actually sell the base pan ($67 +shipping). I could repair it, but how far do I go? I would like to hear your opinions, what are your suggestions as to what I should do with this thing? Repair and keep it? Repair and sell it? Or just send it to the scrap heap while I only have $20 into it? Thanks!! Kevin |

Is there something special about the water valve? $110.00 sounds waaaayyy expensive, but then I just bought a pump for a Norgetag washer, and my price was $57.00. Pull the valve, and post a pic, if you can. Are those the ones with the Amana transmission? I can't really tell, it looks like a Norge style pump. kennyGF |
