I took some video of my '64 Norge in action at the new house tonight and wanted to know how to post it ??? This is the first time I have EVER done any video and with my dig cam no less so I hope it comes out acceptable. I have four separate videos that are each 10-20 seconds long roughly.
This machine is not the prettiest but it has GREAT/VIGOROUS washing action !!

Once you figure out how to email your file, please send to

mattstar49@yahoo.com.

You may need to compress the file with quickzip or any type of compressing software.

Thanks in advance!

tried compressing

still get the same msg, the file is 39mb in size and for whatever reason, I get a msg that says "cannot upload files greater than 16mb" ........... is that an "aol thing" ?

Hi Greg,

When I took videos of my Orbital Maytag and they were too large to send via Yahoo (over 25 MB), Robert recommended that I try Windows Media Encoder; you can adjust the settings to compress the video and reduce the size TREMENDOUSLY. You will have to play around with it to "get the hang of it" and find the right settings, but the end result is outstanding. I adjusted my videos to 320X240, variable bit rate, medium screen size, and not only did I not lose any quality, they were reduced to 1/4 of their original size. And still at 30 frames/second to catch that fast agitator action!

Hope this helps! By the way, is this the Norge with the "spiralator"? Can't wait to see it in action!

Oops

Forgot to mention that you can download it free from Microsoft.com as well.

thanks Austin

thanks Austin, I will try that ......... and no, the agitator is a "3-straight vane" but it appears to go back and forth at a bit faster rate than the Maytag, and the upper portion of the agitator where the vanes stick out a little also helps really throw the water around ......... I am anxious at some point to try the Norge "slant" agitator that I acquired from another broken down machine in this one to see how it performs as well.

Hi Greg,

was wondering if you got this figured out yet? Robert could probably help you out with any info you might need, that is, if he has the time. He's been very busy lately.

Please give us an update. I'm looking forward to these videos. My aunt had a Norge, had to be mid 60s, and I was fasinated by it.

Thanks, Matt

not this week

Haven't figured it out yet, downloaded the Medias Window Encoder per Austin's advice (hopefully I downloaded the "right one") and am still trying to figure out how to use it ......... won't happen this week, I won't have easy access to my computer for rest of the week because I got a bunch of stuff crammed into two rooms because I am having the hardwood floors redone. Will have to try and work on it next weekend.
