Crumbs..in all the years i have been on Ebay, i don't think i have ever seen 3 old Hoover washers all on at the same time, and so close in production dates..ie; 0354 (Single tub /1957) - 3174 (1st Twin /1959) - 3334 (2nd / Twin/1963) Hope they all go to good homes, where they will be looked after to which they deserve. Regards Keith |

well another damp an cold day at work today turned up a nice surprise when a couple asked me to help them with an old tumble dryer out of their car. sorry about the qaulity of the picture but my phone/camera is a bit crap and makes it look as if there is no square door......also i carefully edited this picture as last time i took a picture of a newly acquired machine Mike commented on a Kenwood chef stainless steel mixing bowl i had in the there, well guess what.........it still is in the back of my car, so feeling ashamed i edited it out of the picture........one day i will clean out the back of this car It all looks in ok condition, they said it didnt work but what bothers me more is it has no wheels????? they have been removed.........also i was going on about how good these old machines are that the couple started thinking about keeping it, me and my big mouth going on about how shite modern mainstream ones are. Argh well Have a good new year everyone Gary |

Rob, I have sent you one picture of my 867,the other pictures of the one i sold on ebay have long gone sorry. That pink you have just got looks stunning, that colour is such a statement :-) Paul You have got me thinking now as to what washing they have !!!!......hmm they probably would have mentioned if they had a Hoover 30XX, but at least i understand why the wheels are missing, what a mess of the top they sat on without wheels, scratched to **ck ;-( I collected the 6042 some time ago, it is in virtually mint condition inside and out, no rust nothing, just a tiny dig in the control knob front cover, it amazed me when i got it home, all i had to do was T-cut it to bring back the shine on the paint work and replace the lid securing screw plate on one side, it works beautifully, and drys clothes quickly, I am very impressed with it. Attached is a fot again not very good qaulity coz i used my phone/camera Gary |

The Australian version of the above dryer...the Apollo, used to sit inside a frame on top of the Zodiac/Electra which used the same chassis and had the same footprint as the UK equivilent washer as the above dryer Ours were a good fit. Not tight, but reasonable and the extra weight of the dryer certainly helped negate the occassional 'bounce' from a Zodiac. Is everyone confused now? |

...I gather that the Electron came out in the late 70's... There is another current thread that pretty much tells you the history of Hoover front loaders in Oz from the early 70's until their demise at the hands of Email/Electrolux ...but basically, the Zodiac had no detergent drawer...and the Electra that followed, did. Infact it was the same drawer that the Earler machine had split as - Left 'Cold', Right 'Warm/Hot' and fabric conditioner in the middle at the back |

here's another picture, not in bad visual condition needs a fan belt and a good T-cutting on the body.........its mad since i bought the D6042 I have gained another two Hoover dyers from the 1970s, the D6008 just needed a bit of service and a new fan belt and if any of you are eagle eyed enough you will notice a Hoover washing machine laying on its side to the left, well that turned out to be a Logic 1100, so i spent a few hours stripping out all the useful bits :-) |

Here is one more of todays find. I didnt have room for the D6042, nor the D6008 nor this one, so I am going to ahve to start Stacking them :-(, whihc i dont like doing coz i like to be able to get them easily to use.............ah well Now the only other problem i have with this dryer is cannot get the lint filter out, it turns but will not pull off.........i nearly snapped it at one point......so any ideas welcome on that one :-) Thanks Gary |

That logic i think was an A3457, 1100, same size drum as electron 1100 (4.5KG) if its not totally buried when i go in saturday ill have a look Well how can i refuse an old dryer like that this is the first non glass door dryer i have had me hands on, i noticed whilst fiddling with it inside that there is no fan on the motor at all, just the exhaust fan on the back of the drum The filter was like yours in all my tugging i managed to get all the lint out of it As regards getting the bugger off ill have a session next week, once i have got it in the garage (still in the back of my car for all to see) But of course if Rob can shed some light then that would be great, the other dryers i have use the same filter so i would have thought a turn anti clokwise would do it...........ah well least of my worries. It would be good to the Hoover 800 go to someone who will love it :-) |

Hello Ron from down under I am glad you named the Bloomberg coz i could not remember what make it was, i sort of recognised it but coudnt put name to it. It is in a terrible state........the tub is missing and the drum is crushed most of the inards are missing........... christ knows whats happened to that one Well on the way to work i stopped off at another site iused to work at and came across a very nice Servis tumble dryer (sqaure door type, brown control panel and kick strip) in nice condition, i picked it up on the way home tonight so will post some pictures of it later. I cannot remember the model number...something like a super dry reversing 209 or summit.......bloody heavy for a dryer aswell So thats me news Gary |

Well here are a few fots of the Servis dryer i brought home. it is in very good condition (no rust!) and will clean up nicely. Only problem is I think it needs a new motor start capacitor.....which shouldnt be a problem, once i have rummaged through my bits boxes. RON......Bloomberg I remember these machines now at a retailer here called Comet long long time ago, but i havent seen anything else from them.....where they an actual manufacturer or a re-badged jobby? First pic |

..is a German manufacturer now owned by Arcelik (I know what it sounds like!) who also own Beko. I have a feeling that they were tied up with Brandt though as they looked for all the world like one even though they were made in Germany... Some of the machines on www.blomberg.de... are rebadged Bekos.... I would love to read a test of the 'real' Blombergs against an AEG, Miele and Bosch.... CLICK HERE TO GO TO ronhic's LINK |
