Looks like the Whirlpool that I bought for my mother in 1984. Is the color almond?

That machine is older than 1984. Maybe 1974.

Is this a large capacity or standard capacity Whirlpool? Looks like a large capacity machine with a standard capacity agitator...

It is harvest gold, don't know the year

That is a large capacity Whirlpool. The hole pattern at the bottom of the tub is telltale. The large capacity models did not have a continual ring of holes around the agitator, but had several groups of holes. Also there are four rows of holes, which was typical of large capacity models pre-1980. Standard capacity washers had only two rows.

Have a good one,
James

Oh I would LOVE to have this machine :) I have always wanted to find a harvest gold Whirlpool. I don't think they made very many of these as I haven't seen many of them. Nice machine.

Cloverleaf agitator and a plastic lid handle. I think this is a very late Whirlpool BD.

Good deal for the set,
Dave

I would say early to mid 80's. I think that was about the time that Whirlpool went to his agitator. Another thing to look for is whether the WHirlpool logo has a circle through it or not. They changed and added the circle sometime in the mid 80's I believe.

It's a "matched" pair (7800) but different years.

The washer (LHA) is a 1980-1981 model year. Serial number (C104) indicates early (January) 1981 manufacture. Toward the end of the LHA series production.

The dryer (XK) is a 1982 model year. Serial number (M130) indicates mid-1981 (July) manufacture. Early in the XK production.

That is actually one of the last of the original big-tub machines. Production on the common-baseplate models was beginning to ramp-up at this time in 1981 and by mid-year all the tubs had gone to the slightly smaller models that had the two rows of perfs on the basket bottom. The newest original sized large capacity machines I've seen was made in June that year but a suds model, which may have been a "one off".
