Gas, and it runs! (dry test, no gas). Original lint filter is gone though.

Interesting....that was my mother's first dryer...3 cycles with 5 temperatures...but hers did not have the "designed for permanent press" decal nor the embossed "LINT SCREEN". Dated from 1964 or 1965.

Well now I am curious. The door handle and drum with the fixed rear bulkhead are clearly post 1965, but the console is very much the style of a 1962 Model 60 dryer. The only guess I can give to the model year and type, judging from a 24 inch wide 1967 Kenmore washer I saw posted earlier this year is that this dryer is a 1967 Model 500 or 400. It could also be a match to a Model 200 24 inch Kenmore washer from that year too. The 24 inch machines always married different stylings, and were always fun to figure out.

Have a good one,
James

Thank you for pointing that out...this was not the dryer of my childhood which did not have the fixed bulkhead...definitely the control panel I grew up with ('64-65), but newer guts. Interesting.

Model Number

This would mean the dryer is a 1967 Model 500.

Have a good one,
James
