I just recently got my 1963 Lady Kenmore washer and dryer out of storage and into the new house. After hooking it up I realized the drain valve on the washer was broke. I actually was able to find one at an appliance parts store. While taking it apart the stablizer piece (up on the top right corner, looks like a v with a little deal at the end to help stabilze the tub) The little deal fell out and I cannot find it. Does anyone have an extra deal for the stablizer or the whole stabilzer unit? Everytime I do a wash the buzzer goes off because of it unbalanced. Just kind of annoying. I hope I described it correctly. And sorry for not using propper terms. Thanks.

It sounds like you are talking about the snubber. If you haven't moved the machine significantly from the spot where this occurred (the misplaced dealything) get a flashlight, or some other kind of bright spot light and look around inside
the cabinet. It may have fallen between the inner and outer
tub, or elsewhere within the confines of the cabinet, or possibly rolled under something near by. In the event that I'm
CFoS , nevermind!!! Otherwise, save the old Kitchenaid for me!

If you don't find the old snubber pad, or if the retaining tab on it is broken, new snubbers, believe it or not, are still available for your machine. They don't look the same exactly, but they work the same. You will need a new spring AND the snubber pad itself.

There are a couple snubber and spring kits out there for various applications. If you don't find yours, let me know and I'll get you a part number.

btw - you have one my favorite Kenmores of all time!

Is that my old 63 you ended up with?

I was wondering what happened to those! Hope you are able to fix em.

At Sears' website the part comes up at 350906. This is a kit that has three springs in it to convert various machines to the latest snubber standard. However, that kit may be no longer available at external suppliers, but you can get 350902 instead. It has the most common spring (for 29-inch machines) and the pad. Either kit will work.

Again, don't be surprised that the spring isn't exactly the same - the snubbers were changed in the mid-70s, but the revision is applicable to older machines without any adaptations.

Thank you for the part number. I went to down to the local appliance store and gave them the part number, and they had one in stock. Came to about $11.00 with tax. The washer works great without buzzing. Thanks again.

That is a beautiful turquoise set of LK's - just goes to show you, too, that what may seem to be a big issue turns out to be relatively minor. Congratulations on keeping them humming!!
