Hi Guys,

Below is a link to a copy of an artcile i featured in about my washing machine collection at my work.

For 2009, our online magazine has begun featuring anyone in the organisation with a "collection", so when i emailed them they said they would love to feature my story. I had to write about 200 words about the hobby...when, how, why etc and include a few pics. I ended up taking the pics myself with the digital camera and tripod...i think they turned out ok.

You will note that i mentioned this website indirectly and other Oz members too. (i may have got the numbers wrong with the Oz members...apologies)

One of the reasons i wanted to place the story was that i work for a government organisation with 20,000 employess across Australia.....a subtle advertisment never goes astray!

I've had some great comments and at least one possible lead on some machines. one colleague emailed me the attached pic of some powders they saw in China recently and to tell me his brother in law loves washing machines too!

I have to thank our webmaster Robert for putting the link on the server so i could show it to everyone. (Robert, if you think this should be in the "Super" thread, you would be welcome to move it)

Hope you like the story.
Cheers
Leon

That is great Leon, your detergent collection brings back many memories of my years at Woolworths as the cleaning aisle stock filler,(when I used to be young.)may I ask what is the brand directly behind the true blue Ajax and the Spree/ by any chance would it be called Blue Torrent?,you see I think I must be the only person in the world who remembers Blue Torrent, folks think I am mad and have mixed it up with another brand, but I know it did indeed exist.
I also see you have the Lemon Fab with the Fab lady and her basket of exploding lemons.
Thanks for sharing this with us Leon.
Steve.

I am afraid not Leon, never heard of Punch, also just like Ronhic that box of original Blue Omo looks like a box of heaven, funny the other day I was out at Cabramatta going through the large Bing Lee electrical store there and while walking back to the train station I walked past a cheap discount shop which had 2 bottles of Purex laundry liquid, maybe I should have got them?.
Thanks again Leon.
Steve.

Way cool!

On the left there is the "Muf"/"Meef" Russian?
The Pide with a triangle is kinda interesting too.

Nice article, Leon!

Oh, and Barf just means:

"Snow" in Farsi, the main language in Iran.

However, after the second snowiest winter in NE Ohio, I just might...!
