hello to all members of aw do you know if the fridgedair washers of today are good (top load) because right know i am using a whirlpool duet washer and dryer set but in 10 years from now i am thinking of going with a maytag washer and dryer set or a fridgedair washer and dryer set and i like the idea of a warm rinse option would be useful when needed.

Here is a picture of the model if unchange in 10 years that i would love.

To be honest

Those are literally the worst performing washing machines ever made. Turnover is non existent. Everything is cheap plastic junk. I do not reccomend these machines, and I don't think anyone else will either.

Pierre, you are better off looking for a front loader with warm-warm wash-rinse option. I agree that the Duets without warm-warm option are a little odd. I have a Frigidaire 2140 with warm-warm option. I have friends who passed on a Duet for the lack of that cycle, they went with a KitchenAid washer (now rebadged as Maytag) that did have warm-warm. I don't use my warm-warm option often, mainly to wash woolens, but I agree it's a nice feature.

Maybe WP will get a hint in ten years, but by then there should be plenty of machines with a warm-warm option.

PS Pierre....I agree with tuthill that Frigidaire FLs are hopeless. However, the front loaders are receiving good reviews as basic machines. They don't have all the bells and whistles but they do a good job for the money. Model 2940 has been one of Consumer Reports' top three choices for the past three years. Reason? It washes nearly as well as the top of the line brands, for half the price.

Hmm, every duet model I've looked at does have a warm wash-warm rinse option. I think you are overlooking a feature on your Duet you have. What model do you have?

Alright, haters, STEP OFF!!!

I happen to really enjoy my Frigidaire top-loader, which I purchased in 2006. However, I would not recommend one as your only washer for several reasons.

1) It only fills the tub about 2/3 full of water. This allows you to wash only medium-sized loads. The pressure dome is not adjustable.

2) While the dial SAYS there's a warm rinse, that is false. The fill for the deep rinse is cold. You get a 20-second warm rinse during the final spin. False advertising!!

3) To meet the latest energy-usage requirements, the "Precision Temp" feature has been changed, and not for the better. Beginning with models made last year, the hot water wash is 'dumbed-down' to a maximum of 110 degrees, and the warm water wash is not temperature controlled at all. Insanity!

Yes, the machine is all plastic, but I get outstandingly clean results when washing even huge loads of highly-stained kitchen whites, as long as I make sure more water is added to the tub. They have been very reliable washers. Friends of mine have a 1986 model which has needed only one repair--a broken belt.

There is roll-over, but you have to get the water-to-clothes ratio just right. It has a much slower rollover than we're used to seeing with fast, short-stroke machines.

Frankly, I would recommend a GE or Whirlpool top-loader before the Frigidaire---unless you really want an indexing tub, which I did.

You can watch three different videos of my washer on YouTube. Search for "2006 Frigidaire Washer."

I have a Frigidaire T/L a MOL, its not a bad washer for small households. On sheet day 2 king sheets and 4 pillowcases are truly a "full" load. The lid locks during spin, and seems to stay locked a little longer than necessary. Its quieter than our "leaky" Amana, that it replaced. We are selling our home in Louisiana, so it will probably get left behind.

Frigilux, speaks the truth! I'm pretty happy with my TL. In fact it seems to do a better job than the FL it replaced. The "warm rinse" is indeed a bit of mkt BS. When I do a huge load I force the water level to the top row of basket holes. I really don't care for FL anymore.

Here's my 2 cents- I have the TOL Frigidaire TL washer and dryer. True, the warm rinse is a sham, it's just a warm spray rinse at the end. But, I tweeked the water level so that the full setting fills the tub to the top row of holes. I can say the wash action is very gentle, and the rollover is fine if you don't overload. The 3/4 horse motor is very strong, spin is good. It is fairly quiet. I love the fact that it has a spray rinse after the wash and rinse. They are not short little squirts, either. It has a second rinse option. I would take a FD TL over a Whirlpool/Kenmore/Maytag anyday. The FD is also very inexpensive. I would recommend it highly, if you can't get an older Maytag or a new Speed Queen. It has a locking lid and no spin brake. It takes a couple minutes for the lid to unlock, which is a pain. I have been meaning to post pics of the washer in action, so I will get on this soon.

BTW, how much longer will these be made?

Bobby---How did you tweak the fill setting on your Frigidaire? The pressure dome on mine has a little red paint mark where it should be able to be adjusted, but even my very smallest allen wrench won't fit the hole on what I believe to be the adjuster.

How old is your Frigidaire?

Bobby, please give us more info on the water level. I would love to get mine to fill all the way.

Uh,

Why not just go back to the machine when it is about to deep rinse, stop it, set it for a warm wash, let it fill with warm water, and then stop it, move the dial to "rinse"?

I am puzzled.

Because then it is no longer automatic.

This is a job for a toggle switch.

Just add a switch between a jumper and bridge the hot/live side of the cold wsolenoid to the hot/live side of the hot solenoid.

Every time "cold" is called for (when the switch is "on") you'll get warm).

Be sure to leave switch "off" when selecting "warm" or "hot".

Hey guys!
Sorry to be late in responding. I will be glad to send the pages of the manual to get at the water level control. You have to be careful not to break any of the plastic doohickies when you take apart the console. I used a regular small screwdriver (crosshead) if I remember correctly. I have taken pics from this weekend of it in action. I'll post them tonight. The manufacture date is 2006.
