The Hotpoint Aquarius WML 540G has arrived.I have tried it on the woollens wash and it is fantastic! It spun at 600rpm with a jumper in it.It was still wet.(cos it was only 600rpm)So i put it on a spin with 800rpm,and i tell you what,it was the longest 800rpm spin i have ever seen!

Pics might be coming soon!

Yes

It is very cool.I tried the 1400rpm spin today. It seemed to just keep getting faster. LOL.When it slowed down,it sounded like a plane. It is brilliant!

I paid £293 at Curry's and it is worth every penny!

Its similar to its predacesor the wf541 which my friend has got and the final 1400 rpm is very fast.

It is a good machine, except from when it goes very mad with balancing but yours must be ok as this year they may have sorted the problem out.

I have had only had 1 unbalanced load so far.It was a jumper on woollens. It redistributed 3 times them started to rinse.I dont know if it was supposed to spin though.

Just had a look it is undeniably a great looking machine.

Does it say in the manual how many times it will attempt to spin before it aborts in the event of an out of balance load and how long it will attempt to spin?

I know in other Hotty manuals it does not specify?

No sorry it doesnt. It tells you that it will abort the spin if very unbalanced though.

My hotpoint WT960 would give up after 10mins of balancing. However this wasn't true of the final spin. It ditributed the whole 20minutes towards the end before i got rid of it!

my ultima has good points and bad points to new ultimas

. Platinum wools WT960 is 1000 wmd960 is 600
. Anti crease is fast on wt960s wmd960 is slow.
. Display beeps all the time on wt960s when selecting (which i like) wmd960 doesn't
. Door unlocks after 2 mins after anticrease, wmd960 opens unlocks straight away.

However given the choice between id keep my ultima for the 1000 wools spin:p we got this machine, see crushu2D page on youtube as the color matches our worktops
