I sold a GE stove that has a thermostat problem, it thinks the oven is 400 when it is 150. I am told that you can reprogram the thermostat, but GE sure won't tell you, and the thermostat can't be accessed or replaced without ENTIRELY dissassembling the thing. mod # is JGSP40AES1AG. Any help would be much appreciated. Matt

Well well, you can only adjust the temp 35 degrees + or -
not much help. Oven is useless. Just wasted money I don't have. Unless I can insulate the thermostat. Use a ceramic? I hate new s***

Sounds like a weak bake ignitor. Do you get a flame? If the ignitor glowa, but no flame, it could be weak. It should draw 2.5-3.0 amps. If less than 2.5 amps replace the ignitor. Part # is WB21X5301 or GR-403 round ignitor. Let me know.

If that's one that incorporated the clock and thermo together, you have to change out the entire assembly.Big $$$

Try going to www.appliancerepair.com... and ask the Samuri for help. He did a post on those thermostats awhile back.
