Hi Pete, I hate that white gunk too! I can't live with it,so I know how you feel about putting it back together like that. I use those green scratchy pads from the grocery store. I cut them into three parts,then use one at a time.Push HARD!! After a few minutes the pad fills up,and dulls itself out. Just use the next pad,and more water. These will clean the chalky deposits from the tub without damage to it. It is not easy. It takes lots of time and lots of muscle.However,like anything else,the results are worth the extra effort. Thanks Rick - You're referring to ScotchBrite pads and I use them regularly in the kitchen. I'll give it a try. Short of sandblasting, I hope this works. Pete |
