Cool machines! I agree with Bob; those definitely look earlier than 1971; early-to-mid 60's is more likely. The fact that the washer has the "Pregnant Roto-Swirl" was a dead giveaway. Makes the find that much better!! | ||

By the way Bob Appnut, this is the Sears machine I'm always telling you reminds me of a 58 Frigidaire because of the pointer, square timer dial and the colors going around. | ||

Kenmore Carbon Dating Aren't the Kenmores of that era easily dateble by the first two #'s immediately following 110. ? I suppose there could be some mid, late year changes, but I thought that was the most accurate dating. Love the metal w/lid dr/door handles! Beau- tiful Maytag too. Teach little poochy how to sort and load! | ||

Aside from the model number, which is reliable dating for certain, you might be able to see a date stamp on the transmission, like mine has, assuming it wasn't replaced entirely during the course of the machine's life and didn't wear off. Mine is on the side facing the access panel and says simply "AUG 4 61." | ||

The Kenmore model numbers indicated the year by the 1st and 3rd number after the 110. Not always totally reliable though. And almost never after 1996. Ed | ||
