I have no idea, I almost fell over when I saw it. Thought to myself that it was a little out of place. |

reason, Inglis was the name for Whirlpool appliances in Canada for many years. I would imagine that Pete or our other Canadian friends might be able to elucidate. Lawrence/Maytagbear |

Inglis was a manufacturer of just about everything in Canada for years. After WWII, they wanted to branch out into laundry equipment so they bought the rights to manufacture Whirlpool appliances in Canada. This made a lot of sense because in the pre-NAFTA days, there were some pretty hefty duties on imports from the USA. Inglis was finally taken over by Whirlpool completely some time in the 80's. To the best of my knowledge, the Inglis appliances are still built here (well, in Toronto) but I never thought they were distributed in the US - who knows - that may have changed! |
