Tonight I was digging around in the Maytag stash and ran across this brochure. This is from an old dealer who closed out of business locally in the late 90's. This was buried in the stash of 80's parts and repair manuals. Thought you guys would enjoy this!

Now a raise of hands of those who did not use a similar Maytag while attending college!

We've seen these spec sheets before, but I don't recall ever seeing it for the commercial line! Heck, I don't think I've ever seen a big load capacity commercial machine, period!

Dryer Time!

This is a funny sheet. Below they added the new perm press option by apply a sticker over the ticket reader blurb! Too funny.

And of course, there was the typical propaganda that was included. A fun read!

And, the confidential price list. Love that they state that the dealer could pick up the new commercial machines at the factory in Newton! Just load up the truck and head off on the, then, brand new Interstate 80!

Enjoy -

Ben

The laundromat that my mother and I used to go to had these, great machines. The only thing I didn't like is couldn't keep the lid open and watch them wash, but then I figured out where the lid switch was.

Thanks for the great pics.

Try and beat those specs, Mr. Orbital transmission, LOL!!

Yes, boys and girls, appliances were once engineered for both quality and durability and lasted decades on end. Sad state we're in now! Don't even want to think what the future has in store :(

Somebody somewhere should have a large tub, manual-timer commercial model in their collection!

Now there is word one doesn't hear often nowadays! *LOL*

Great scans! How the mighty have fallen! You probably would have valued your life cheaply even muttering to a Maytag company person, that Whirlpool would soon own the company.

Those were the days my friends.

Thanks for sharing!

We had those (non-coins) on the dorm, they were a work horse when the guys loaded them up to the lid! (didn't, I had my colors, whites, jeans sorted out)

I just happen to be on campus a couple of weeks ago, the are no longer there. They were replaced with Whirlpool.

A few years ago, I had 2 identical washers, even in avocado, along with a couple of similar vintage Whirlpools. Shoulda kept 'em....

You know not the truth you speak...

"How the mighty have fallen! You probably would have valued your life cheaply even muttering to a Maytag company person, that Whirlpool would soon own the company."

That has a high probability of happening even now, esp. if it were to be muttered in Newton, Herron or Searcy...
