Actually this is the Pump for the previous generation "rounded" Hoovers. This pump uses a "flapper" valve and mounts in a different location than the 1971+ T Series and 051x from 71+. The machine in question of the auction uses a pinch style hose clamp setup, the only thing interchangable on these 2 pumps would be the base piece, which would be a waste. Pumps in the US are rare for either. This pump is the same as the foreign sold ones (3314L etc.). If you were going foreign searching, I think the 3316L uses the pinch valve setup, but I'm unsure exactly. The pinch valve setups were mainly US models, but were more reliable IMO than the flapper style units in terms of corrosion. I actually bought this pump for the 62, all of the o-rings are shot in mine and the flapper spring is weak. Trust me, finding Hoover pumps can be a nightmare, I have 3 running machines to feed parts for :P -Tim |
