Picked up the A700 and DG-606 today - a beautiful day for appliance moving!

Here is the washer, it's not in too bad of shape for it's age. No sign of oil sling-age underneath and overall pretty good. I haven't touched a rag to it, no need until I can check things out inside and do some "intake triage."

And the money shot - agitator is stuck, but haven't put any real effort into it yet. The tub isn't horrible, minor color loss around the basket holes but all in all not too rough or chipped.

Uh Huh.

Just look at how that standing pilot corroded everything in side the cabinet. They should have put a chimney on them like Hamilton did.

Years of constant heat & moisture from the gas pilot.

I pulled the electronic control, the door seal (had obviously been replaced) and the motor out. The rest is on it's way to becoming a Little Swan/GE.

Ah gas, your favorite. Guessing you brought it home just for the door seal?

The washer doesn't look to be too bad. Planning on turning it into a lawn planter? You can wire it to light up when the yard lighting turns on at dusk!

The 700 is sure a beauty and in great condition. So, is the 606 just a parts machine? Sad to hear that but better than the whole works being crushed.

Yikes Greg!
My old DG606 (that my aunt has now) does not have any of this pitting and rust at all! Are you sure the pilot light caused this?
