Nothing is more beautiful than an avocado Maytag or Kenmore set. |

From my description point of view, the "older" had the "blue" lower-half of the panel and white-faced dial with blue characters. the "newer" had a morre "gold-appearing" bottom half of the control panel and a silver-faced dial with black & orange lettering. This newer style came out in 1974 or 1975 I THINK. For me personally, it was a bad contrast, compared to the "older" and I found it more difficult to read and was one of the reasons why I didn't buy a Maytag in April, 1978.
