I bought today what maybe the oldest washer on the site here? It is wooden and a wheel is turned to move two parts of the tub back and forth. The clothes are put between the two corrigated wooden slates that resemble 2 washboards and then, when the wheel is turned, it scrubs the clothes between.
I also bought a wringer and stand in nearly new condition. The wringer is in a fixed position and on either side of that, sections fold down to hold tubs on either side of the wringer. The lettering is in great condition, but the rollers are not. The washer is from the 19th cent. and the wringer and stand from the early 20th. I won't use either but they sure do look cool. Gary
