Galaxy was indeed the lowest in the Kenmore line, with a new name. They also called them "Capri" at times. I don't know why the BOLs were re-named, perhaps Kenmore was embarrased about them? The machines are mechanically the same as the rest of the line, just the BOLs were 24-inch regular capacity models, single water levels, timer set temps, etc. The BOL models were basically the same in appearance and function/features for years and years - from fairly recently to back in the 1970s. I don't remember exactly when the name "Galaxy" was used, but I'd guess early to mid 90s. Gordon |
