Hey Guys,
I was wondering if I could replace the agitator in my Kenmore 90 series with a Roto Swirl agitator?

That would depend on whether it's a belt, or direct drive. A Roto-Swirl won't work on a direct drive because the two operate on completely different principles. Belt drive machines have a slower, longer stroke and the agitators typically have larger fins. A direct drive, on the other hand, uses a much shorter and faster stroke. There was some discussion about putting a KitchenAid agitator on a Kenmore, which would fit both machines. However, the larger fins on the blue Kenmore agitator proved to be very hard on transmissions. Finally, there is the issue with how the Roto-Swirl would fit in a direct drive tub.

It is a Direct drive machine, no belts.. I will have to keep my eye out for another machine that I can use my Roto Swirl or my WP Surgliator in

Agitation speed and stroke aside..............

The machines the Roto Swirl's will fit all have a TALL spin tube and agitator drive shaft. Whirlpool/Kenmore changed the design in the early 70's to use a much shorter spin tube/drive shaft assy and thus, the Roto Swirl will NOT work in anything 1973 or 1974 and later.
