Is it possible to increase the spinning speeds alone without the agitating boost?

I thought about this too...we need to know if there is a motor that for wash would have the normal speed...but reversing for the spin would be higher RPM's...this would eliminate the 50hz conversion...

what about these places that rewind motors....could we take our regular motor in and have it altered for more speed during spin...I may have to go to a place we have here and ask....what we need is a variable speed control mounted to the motor...there has got to be a way...

Would it really be that easy, if so, why bother with the changes of installing a 50 hz pulley and belts? Let me know what is done.

choose gentle agitation

And normal spin speed, assuming of course that you have a 2 speed machine.

were looking for a way to increase the spin speed faster than just the normal/fast setting of regular or two speed models...just to extract more water...without the 50hz changes...

Yogi, I believe Swestoyz know something about increasing the spin speed through the motor. He mention the use of a 3 phase motor and VFD to control the motor, a power inhancement, in his Maytag Hot Rod thread.

Wire in a high frequency drive....

A high frequency drive wired into spin cycle can do the job with right relays ect. see a engeneer for this setup

What exactly is a high frequency drive? Is this an expensive process?

It's a matter of running the motor on say 70 hertz (cycles per second) rather than 60. Seeburg used this means for their 2-speed jukeboxes. I imagine you'd need some mighty large transistors with the amperage involved.
