Sorry for the tiny picture, but I saw this and they look like an interesting pair. Anyone tell what they are? Looks taggish to me.

Those would be the matching Maytag Digital Control set - approx. 1993 to 1995ish. LAT9904. Beautiful washer/dryer. On C/L somewhere? Looks like the plastic handle has yellowed a bit!

Ben

Those are my favorite Maytags from that era. The display has somc primitive graphics and colors.

Whats the drive system on the washer? Would be orbital by 93-95, correct?

What is reliability like on these puppies?

One Model Below

I just left the model immediatly below these in my place that I just sold in Studio City. Awesome and quiet workhouses. They do have the orbital "fast stroke" drive. These pictured here and the ones I just left behind had the short lived "endergy saver" temperature control switch, that offered five temperature settings for the wash water.

I goe them from the equipment laboratory at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. We had both sets on consignment from Maytag. My set was used on and off for 16 years and never had a signel repair.

For those wondering why I left them, the new onwers wanted either this set or the Miele's. I left these.

I have a set that's two models down from those TOL's. Those were/are great machines. I recommend replacing the b**lsh*t white agitator with an old fashioned Power Fin--works a lot better, lots more rollover and I don't like sending lots of lint down the drain when I can easily remove it and save my septic system some grief.

Only complaint, very brief, 15 second spray rinse, followed by a very brief 2 minute rinse. With these models you can select an extra rinse but then you can't use the fabric softener dispenser.

Well you CAN but you will receive the benefit of having rinsed out much of the softener and have less stench and wax on your clothing and on your person!

It's all amatter of perspective.

If you are scratching around your wee-nis and feel the need to go buy some Vagisil, it may just be the softener irritating your dangly / fleshy parts. I'm just sayin'.........

:-)

okay, okay. in the very least, I will go look for you, gary. :-)

i need these like i need a hole in my head, but I promise I will go look. I have no idea how much they are asking. no way I am giving up my A806 tho. that and I have the 702s in the shed and I've not even looked at it much. it would be kinda useless if it the dryer wasn't gas.

i use final touch liquid in the rinse and i will continue do so. my nether-regions remain unscathed. not had the chance to do much of the boy's laundry yet, tho he teases me saying he'll bring some over. i'll be sure to keep my ear to the ground for reactions.

Only complaint, very brief,...

Does anyone know if all the LAT models have a 15 second spray rinse and 2 minutes rinses? I thought all Maytag washers had a 1 1/2 minute spray rinse.

mine has a 1 minute spray rinse, and a 3 minute deep rinse....

remember, these are digital, except for the spray rinse, the wash, rinse and final spin is adjustable

I can do up to:
19 min wash
5 min rinse
8 min final spin

The dryer was electric, and I don't know of anyone who has an electric install so I passed on this set. I still have the contact info if anyone wants them. She was asking $200 each, but seemed willing to go lower.

Eric, I had the LAT9900 bought in 1992, with a black background. They were good machines. I updated the agitator to a cork screw type(cannot remember the name), which I ordered from Maytag. The machine was just okay. Did not spin that great, even when it was new.
