Hi Guys! So it seems my GE Drain hose has sprung a leak... The aluminum drain hose gooseneck has corroded enough that there is a pin hole leak that I only just noticed last night. I was standing at the washer as it went into spin and noticed a little fountain coming out of the side of the hook and all over my kitchen counter. This must have been happening for a while since I've been noticing water on the floor but thought I must have splashed doing dishes or something... There are very few appliance parts places around here and what's a vintage GE without that Aluminum gooseneck? So, if anyone has one I can buy and get sent to me - I'd love that - I'm sure there are a few extras out there! Also - does anyone remember any GE models that used rubber goose necks? I have seen only two. My grandmothers machine had a black drain hose with the spiral wire to prevent kinking but a black rubber hook on the end (all one piece) - like most other drain hoses of the day. Also, on the Dispensall I fell in love with when I was younger, it too had an all rubber drain hose with a rubber hook. Anyone know why this was? I know they were original to the machines as they both had the metal spirals and both went directly into the back panel... I'd love to find one of these again also... Just putting it out there - never hurts to ask! Hope you're all having a great summer! Matt |
