I've a delay timer on my 2006 Zanussi made Westinghouse as does my 2005 Electrolux badged Zanussi... ...and my mother and cousin used plug in wall timers on their machines for years...just so long as they are not electonic...the timers with the 'lugs' that open up the power are better than the electronic ones... The Simpson fluid drive worked perfectly set up as below. The only alteration for the semi electronic ASEA was that she had to actually start the programme and then kill the power...it proceeded as normal the moment the power came through - rotate the dial and set the current time (normally within 10min) ensuring that the 'lugs' are "off" - set the time you want the wash to start by pushing or pulling the relevant 'lugs' on the dial ensuring you leave enough time for the full cycle of the machine - load the machine etc - start the machine.... Nothing will happen until the timer dial reaches the appropriate stage.... |

MAH3000 - MAH5500A Neptunes had a delay feature, up to 8 hours. During the instructional video it discusses using this feature to take in the benefits of off peak rates. I would assume, but not positive, that the later 5500B and 7500 had a delay feature too. Besides Norge and ABC, were there any other vintage washers that had clock timers built into them? None that come to mind to me anyway. Ben |

The Calypso has a delay option. I use it when I put in a load in the morning. I set it to wait until an hour or so before I get home. That way nothing sours. |

At the risk of stating the obvious, a 15-amp timer can be had for less than $10 in any hardware store. It's an option if your washer has a mechanical (not electronic) control panel. |

has a 8 hour delay timer. Just have to make sure you use powder detergent instead of liquid. And remind yourself that you have clean laundry in the machine as well. |
