u0 is a familiar error code to late model Frigidaire (made by Electrolux) dishwasher owners. It stands for Vent Open and it appears when it cannot close the steam vent at the top rear of the machine. Of course, you have to pull the machine all the way out from under the cabinet to reach said vent mechanism.
The mechanism is flimsy and this is the second time in 2 years it has failed. Of course, this time it chose to do so a week after the extended warranty expired. ARRRRGGGHHHH! The machine is near TOL, but has always been ultra-mediocre in performance, loud during pump out, and has cumbersome racking. (But, it IS very nicely styled, and gawd knows how important that is!)
So now the repair or replace decision is again upon our household. We've had wretched luck with high-end, computer controlled dishwashers in the last 7 years. Maybe it's time to look for a Hotpoint with a mechanical timer.
