Hi -

I have an Hitachi Program 1300 (Model FW 133 W or FW 133 B according to my Owner's handbook) at home, which I have been using for many years to wash my clothes with! (Unfortunately, today it stopped with error F4- the motor is running too fast or too slow: a belt problem??).

I was just wondering if anyone knew how old this machine was, approximately?

to the site, great to see another member in Edinburgh!!! Sounds like it could be a belt problem. Am not too sure of the age of the machine but there are a few guys with extensive knowlegde so you should find out soon.

I agree with Darren - late 1980's, I think.

I remember seeing an advert for the Hitachi machines on TV (only saw it once).

The only recollection i have of it was that a car reversed upto the edge of a cliff and tossed out of the rear was a Hoover A3058 type machine, which fell into a quarry pit full of scrap machines, with very dark thundery skies above. Was a very moody and grey advert, when the old machine was the subject matter.

Then a load of waffle, advert becomes less gloomy and grey, and a Hitachi machine appears on screen.

does anyone else remember it?

Anyways - a great looking machine. Really pleased that one is in good hands and welcome to the club.

Regards
paul

Welcome to the club, a fab machine you have there, late 1988 it was released, its basically a servis Quartz in a 600m cabinet with a few beefed up parts!!!

I would say if the belt is fine & tight its more likely to be your motor needs new carbon brushes, worst case scenario a new motor, which if its the same as the quartz , should be easy to find, even as an ebay spare!!!

Says a lot for Servis Quartz machines that Hitachi staked their reputation & entry into the UK laundry market by partnering up with Servis...goes to show just how good those Servis Quartz machines where, and how many are still going strong today when all the new electronic boards seems to blow just by looking at them!! The machine looks like it could be from today with its sleek styling!!!....and even 5yrs parts guarantee back then...bring it on Miele!!!

Just looking at that add...is that Rupert Everet do you think??? its been bugging me who he is!!!
