Hey everyone, I don't know how I did it, but I lost the T-bearing that rides atop my '61 Kenmore transmission. I ended up rebuilding the transmission the other evening, and managed to apparently keep track of everything but that. If you saw what I had to work with insofar as a workspace, this might seem less ridiculous than it sounds... Does anyone have the part # for this or have another one lying around? No doubt it'll turn up if I find another, but since I can't do much without it... Thank you SO MUCH for your help... --Nate the inept |

MrMaytag, That Tee bearing won't work witn the old style trans shaft. The one you have uses a groove with a 2 piece clip to stop it. The old trans shaft doesn't have the groove. |

And NO NATE, you are NOT inept!! If ya don't change your thought, I"m gonna come out there and make you stand in a small room with Ross' new 59 Kenmore with the out of balance buzzer ringing (pretty annoying) and keep it buzzing for a few hours!!! HA Anyway, hang in there. Your search will be resolved one way or the other. Bob |

LOL Okay, y'all ready for this? I reinserted it in the transmission because I was a dumb@#$, and apparently I hallucinated or some such between disassembly and reassembly. I tore it apart, fished it out, and put it back where it belongs. Thank you for the description--that jogged my memory and allowed me to remember what happened. Now, assuming that things are copasetic, it should be ready for reassembly once I get the cabinet repainted... *sigh* Thank you so much for the moral support--I've reassembled old machines from bits and pieces from my grandfather's junkyard, but never had to tear down a tranny before :-| LOL Bob--my machine has that off-balance buzzer too. What a treat! (*sound of grinding teeth*) |
