They look alright but lets hope the PCB lasts as i have heard that the electrics in the UK models (I dont know about other countries) aren't so good.

Im certainly not convinced by Bosch - my grans Bosch Classixx dishwasher had PCB failure at 3 years and itd only been used twice a week. She's got a Matsui one now, which im not happy about but what can you say when she pays loads for a Bosch and it packs up after hardly being used.

I wouldnt touch one now thats for sure.

i dont care about the pcb's or the faults, if they look that good, and spin like that at the start, (i hate to say this but) i would get rid of my hotpoint 9534 and zanussi fla1002w and keep the bendix's and buy both the top range washer and dryer and even get one of their kitchens, thats how bad i want one, I LOVE IT

Aqua Stop

Strange the video says only bosch washers have the aqua stop (anti flood device), I have seen them on Miele and AEG appliances.

Some dishwashers have had an anti fllod device for 25 years!.

Probably they mean

that bosch is one of the only brands in America with aquastop? Have no idea if that's true or not... In general I'm not impressed with these new machines. They look as crappy as the Maytag samsungs did, maybe it's because of the fact that's just a computersimulations...

Anti Flood Devices

The Hoover A3308 Computer Control 1100 from the early 1980s has anti flood aswell...................recycling old ideas as usual.

I have a Bosch 1400 express which made great claims for its 3D wash action, this is no more than a couple of rows of holes on the back plate, but they are way above the water level so can be of little or any use.........pathetic

Why dont manufacturers just accept that you need a decent level of water to get clothes clean and stop pis..ng around.

13 gallons??

13 US Gal to Litres is roughly 49-50 litres?

thats a terribly small amount of water considering the capacity of these machines! my standard "european compact front loader" with 7kg capacity uses 61 litres of water as standard!!!

Though they look nice, at the end of the day its all about performance, and how they actually perform may be debatable!

Only Bosch and Miele washer in the US have anti flood devices. These machines can use so little water because American washers only rinse twice - as compared to European washers, which rinse three times.

My Hotpoint only rinses twice on Cottons too!!!

And it has no extra rinse option!

I never liked the Bosch laundry products.Their compacts are stackable but their full size units weren't.I heard so many complaints about all their products for the home.A friend of mine in texas had the washer and its fill nozzel broke causing it to leak She waited 7 months for bosch to fix it right.Reminds me a lot of the severe issues we used to have with L.G.

I don't rate Bosch that highly. I used a mates Classix washing machine whilst looking after his house & whilst it used a more realistic amount of water than our Zanussi, with the wash plus and rinse plus options selected, the motor wined so much it drove me mad. It also sounded worn out at about 4 years old, as ity grated horribly at the start of each turn on the deeper rinse cycles.

This, coupled with our neighbours Bosch dying at 5 years, and my grans dishwasher having PCB failure at 3 years, means id rather spend a few quid less & stick with Zanussi.

LG are far from decent aswell in my opinion - there's plenty of those for sale as spares/repair, and when you see how much they sell for, its not exactly impressive.

Yes the Electrolux products have their faults, but they don't charge such inflated prices to begin with.

While Bosch is justly famous for their high quality dishwashers in the USA (and they've won the CR ratings for I think a decade now, year after year), that expertise doesn't seem to extend to every kind of home appliance.

I always thought their Nexxt series washers were bizarre, in that the placement of the controls precluded both stacking and European-style under-counter placement (I don't mean under KITCHEN counter, but under say a 36" laundry counter). The machines did fairly well in CR ratings, but not not spectacularly. My currrent FL washer is Frigidaire, and if it were to die, I would replace it with another, quality is good at a price much lower than the competition. Or I'd get an Electrolux which IMHO is reasonably priced for what you get, as FL1012 pointed out.

Some friends of mine redid the kitchen in a huge house they bought. I recommended a Bosch dishwasher, made recommendations on washers that they did not follow (they bought Neptunes instead of Duets....), and left them to their own devices as far as cooktop and ovens were concerned.

Fortunately, rather than focus on brand names, or be lured by the discounts offered when you buy a "suite" of appliances from the same manufacturer, they shopped at a retailer with all of their models on display and chose a cooktop based on layout and percieved ease of maintenance, which led them to a GE Profile gas cooktop, which they love.

(FYI for overseas readers...upscale manufacturers like Bosch, Miele, Thermador, Dacor, etc. often offer rebates that increase as the number of appliance you buy from them increases. See link below for sample deals. This program lends itself to those who are building a new home or doing a major kitchen remodel with all new appliances. Because laundry appliances are sometimes included in the rebates, it might be possible to buy a laundry pair and one other appliance--say, dishwasher or range--and still qualify for rebates. I'm not saying that buying the same brand for all appliances is always a bad idea, but the rebates can lure people who haven't done their research into selecting the same brand for everything, either to garner the rebates, achieve a uniform look, or both)

For ovens, they liked the Bosch design the best, and bought the double model with convection on top and conventional on bottom (the one with manual dial controls, not electronic controls). They HATE the ovens, they don't cook evenly and the convection fan is noisy. My $700 Frigidaire gas range with SpeedBake convection cooks more evenly and is QUIET. I hope they didn't chose the oven on the basis of my DW recommendation (DW has performed beyond expectations for them).

For UK readers: rebate "program" vs. "scheme&

in US parlance, "scheme" always has a negative, nefarious connotation. "Schemes" are always evil. So where the UK uses "scheme", such as "the Duke of Edinburgh's Charity Scheme", we studiously avoid use of the word except in criminal or negative situations. A "rebate scheme" means the appliance maker is inherently evil.

ps

I looked at the rebates on the link I posted and sometimes the rebates are much larger than what is currently displayed. Sometimes the rebates can reach into the thousands of dollars if you purchase a fridge, dishwasher, oven, cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, washer, and dryer.

These rebates are sponsored by the manufacturer, not the retailer, and technically you could purchase the appliances from various retailers, if you wanted to shop for best prices. Usually there is no requirement to buy them all from the same store, as long as you purchased all of them during the effective time period of the rebates (often time-limited) and properly fill out the rebate claim forms.
