that would be great but im not sure if its the bearings or a crack in the spider cause i havint taken a proper look at it yet, you may be able to tel me whether its the bearings or the spider if i describe the symptoms. first its making a horible screeching sound when its spining its sounds kinda like nails scraping off a chalkboard. second there is up and down movment in the drum when i push the drum up or a pull it towards the door seal and its starthng to get louder aswel. how much would ynu want for the parts if it is the bearings?

Bad news

spider!

Maybe the bearings too

About price, I don't want nothing more than the cost.

Open your machine and check which parts you need. This model is very similar to the LE750 we had here in Brazil until a few years ago and this model still being produced for Agentinian and Paraguayan markets as EW757.

You don't need ultra advanced skills or wierd tools to open it. If you have msn or yahoo messenger and a webcam that can reach the machine I can also help you with technical instructions in real time.

If you need a bearing only the freight might be insignificant, but if you need the spiders, drum or the Tub I think it will bevery expensive, but maybe not prohibitive.

As I have access to the Electrolux Intranet, I can check the parts list and exploded views to see if the parts are exactly the same and also know each part's price.

How old is that machine? can't you find parts for it? Sometimes they can be much cheaper to fix than one could imagine.

I don't remember much about this model, but I remember clearly it was a very strong Zanussi based machine and I'm sure it worths all the efforts to save it.

By the way, the gasket belt clip is loosen. center the gasket (there's an arrow on it's top that must match the arrow on the cabinet) and hand tight the belt clip. This has nothing to do with the issues that made you start this thread. But I saw it by the pictures.

As the drum is moving when you pull it, stop using the machine immediatelly otherwise you can cause HUGE damages to the drum and the tub.

I thought it might be the spider, the machine is approx 8 years old but it does get a lot of use, i didnt even notice about the gasket that was replaced last year and the bloke who put it on was in a hurry and didnt take much time doing it. my nanny is off to spain in next week so il pull it out and have a proper look. i cant do it while shes there as she belives it working fine she hates to here that something she belives that as long as it stil washes the cloths that its working. but how much do you think the bearings and spider might be?
