My suspicions were proven out! Molding costs alot of money! And the Europeans really like their front loaders!
So I figured the Bendix boots from Europe would fit our Bendix machines!

TA DA!

This boot just arrived via ChesterMike! YAY! Take a look at that fit on my Duomatic!!

IT snapped right in!

Hallelujah now I'm goin Bendix Huntin'!

Bendix Bonanza!

Jon:

Whooda thunk it! That boot makes your machine brand new!

Tell me something, does your Bendix have the detergent dispenser on the top (like the 1947)? Do the current European versions have a dispenser with the same configurations? I ask because the 1947 needs the seal for the detergent dispenser. Maybe....just maybe......

Necessity *is* the mother of invention, and thank heavens for interchangeability!

Jon: Great minds always seem to render good conclusion/results!

Yes, it would be reasonable that the boot would be the same!

Good job and your machine looks great! Now go Bendix hunting!

That's great Jon!! This will definitely help keeping the Duomatics running forever!!

Was the original boot in the machine ripped to begin with?

Jon, will the boot always be that kinda gnarled and wrinkled?

Bob; Robert POINTEDLY pointed the boot is AALLL wrinkled!

I did not take off the old boot at the tub end because I knew that fit! The second boot was placed over the original thats why Robert is having such a problem with the pix!!

The crucial dimension is the front as Robert now knows1 owwww!!

Jon,
That is amazing! And great!
Is there one standard size to all of the boots, or did you have sizes to pick from?
I bet you have made lot's of American Vintage Bendix owners very happy to know that they can get this boot! (in the club that is)
I think your find is incredible!

Brent Thank you for the compliment!

I am researching that question right now in doctrine here at Robert's. Bendix seems to have alot of part numbers between machines. It seems they were always tweeking things. It looks like the Gyromatic I have 1949 G311 has a different boot number than my 1957 Duo but in looking at the actual machines I can't see a measurable difference and when it comes to rubber dimensions aren't crucial.

I have installed a brand new Speed Queen boot in my Gyro adn that is very satisfactory, but I can see the Bendix boot will fit that machine even better than the SQ boot!
I'll let you know what I find out.
