Sometimes everything seems to happen at once! This past weekend was also spent mostly on the road but it was definitely worth it!!
So, on Saturday I took a short trip into Vermont (literally 20 minutes from the house in Ogden to pick up an item that was waiting for me at a freight depot there.
Fortunately it fit in the Focus!

And it's a 1963 model, too!

The former owner made a careful note of the installation date. Pity they did not take down the day... lol

Manuals and other product brochures

came with the dishwasher. The original operation instructions are cool!
There is also a manual and wiring diagram for a GE built-in cooktop, a happy coincidence since I have one that needs a little work!

The machine had not been used much

The inside was actually dusty! The tub, sump, spray arms, racks and cabinet are all in really good shape!
The cutlery basket is something I didn't expect - it is actually suspended off the rack bottom. My guess is that this was done to improve water flow over the contents. The cutlery basket spray arm was probably in the next model up to this one or maybe even a later model...

So, I had to know...

Does it work or not?? I did the usual 'ritual of the hot water' and let it sit for a half hour or so.
Control dial is pretty simple - hey, even I figured it out! LOL

And success!!!

The picture leads one to believe that the dishwasher shot water all over the floor but that was not the case, I swear!
I knocked over the first bucket of water in my excitement to get this latest turquoise acquisition tested!
The pump runs nice and strong (noisy as all get-out with no dishes) and the timer cycled perfectly! YAY!!

Call me happy!

So, overall this was a good find. First and foremost, it's turquoise and that makes me overlook the fact that it's a BOL, probably a builder's model. But the overall condition and evidence of lack of use would lead me to believe that this is going to be around for a while to come! I still need to give the inside a better cleaning and polish up the outside (no removal to the 'Automatic Dishwasher' text on the control panel this time...). I hope to have it loaded up for a wash test in the coming weeks! Stay tuned!
So, I hit the hay on Saturday night one happy camper, but there was more to come on Sunday...

Paul, these were all over the place as builders models--homes, apartments. The very first high-rise in suburban Houston had kitchens with this dishwasher and an Americana Range that was a "Flair" without the lower cabinet. Loved those kitchens. did many a load in my aunts dishwasher when she moved into one of those apartments. Noisy as hell.
