I visited Omaha last October for my friend Bill's birthday party. Before I left Sacramento, I e-mailed Gansky1 to see if I could stop by to meet him and see his collection. He responded favorably, and we made arrangements. If you haven't met Greg, you are in for a treat, he is, of course quite knowlegable, but also very kind, generous and fun.

We did a load in the 58 Frigidaire Custom Imperial washer and dryer, boy what memories that brought to my mind. Our next door neighbor had an older unimatic, which she would let me watch. I love the way the unimatics go into that spin, those motors must have a ton of torque.

Here I am with the older unimatic. My camera didn't flash. (These photos were converted from film to a digital cd)

Final weight

Then we re-weighed the load.

13 pounds, the Frigidaire removed an additional 5 pounds of water!

Darn, I can't go

But I can't go to the convention this year. So everyone that will be there: Have a great time! Can't wait to see the photos and videos of the event. And enjoy Omaha,it is a very fine city with lots of interesting architecture.

So sorry you can't make it Martin! You are welcome anytime you're back in the area again though, so much has changed since you were here - it will be worth another trip for Bill's birthday again! Thanks for posting the pictures, I'd forgotten about the water testing we'd done!

Take care and we hope to see you again soon!
