Had to do a HUGE load of towels today...huge for the Maytag at least! So I decided to wash them in the 1-18. First loaded them in the Dispensall to get an idea of the size of the load, and there really wasn't much room left! Moved it over to the 1-18 and it was full, loaded loosely and added 1 cup of phosphate-laden Ariel. The Jet-Circle Fill started and the load surprisingly "compacted" down a bit with plenty of room to spare! After the "MAXI" level was reached, the Jetcone (no pun intended...;-) ) came to life, and even at the beginning the turnover was incredible! The turnover was excellent on the rinse as well, and the towels came out damp-dry, marking a great end to the last pre-convention 1-18 load!

While it's definitely not the largest load I could do in the machine, it consisted of:

5 dish towels
4 large bath towels
5 hand towels
1 beach towel
1 small swimsuit

Can't wait until Friday--the beginning of Convention Weekend 2005!!!

1-18s ROCK!

I had a king-sized comforter going in mine, no sweat. None of the back-and-forth machines of any capacity can handle it, nor can the Maytag Neptune F/L in our laundromat.

YAY!! :-D

comforter washing

I'm not surprised that none of the TL agitator machines could handle your comforter, but not een the Neptune? How can you tell, since there's no way to see the action in the Neptune?

Re: King-Size Comforter:

My Sears Salesman Friend has the Kenmore Model FridGEMore Matched Washer and Dryer. He has told me that he has Washed and Dried their King-Size Comforter in his Units and it comes out Clean and claims not having any problems with either Machine while Washing and Drying it. He hasn't even had any problems with either Machine at all, since he bought them, around 3 or 4 years ago new, possibly even longer, knowing how time can fly by.

I've done a Full-Size Comforter in my Neptune and it came out real Clean and Dried in my Neptune Gas Dryer all right, even without much extra time needed, than a regular Large Load of Laundry...I don't think that I would attempt either a Queen-Size or a King-Size in my Neptunes, but I would attempt in a "1-18" "GM" Frigidaire Washer and Dryer...

Peace and Happy FridGEMore Washing and Drying, Steve

Comforters & such

The problem of comforters & such is not that they won't get clean, but that they'll be damaged, at least in TL machines. Even if you overlad an FL machine to the point that a comforter is mearly turning with the drum, it would still get clean since comforters don't really get "dirty", just a little dusty, so even just geting thouroughly wet and spunout would be sufficient to get it clean.

My last wash before leaving

I got a load of whites in on Sanitary Cycle- Its just now 11:45 am.
I won't have time to hang them-Dennis will do so after dumping me off at the airport...
Will arrive in Omaha at 10:12am Friday (It will be 5:00am for me.) on a flight from Chicago.

I'll try a bus or cab to my motel unless I see some one else I can hitch with.

I'll be wearing a "Maytag" t-shirt in royal blue If anyone happens to be around-or I will find my way either way. Can't wait to see everyone!

You're about to have

The time of your life!

Believe me, this will be the high point in your 16 years of existance on this planet.

Nothing will compare to the next 3 Days Of Our Lives.

Heck, I went and hooked up some computers at my fiancee's dad's office, went home, mowed the lawn, burnt the HELL out of my fingers on the lawnmower (I was stupid, don't ask), and Brianne and I are frantically burning dvds and making labels for them. oy what a day.

I saw 2 rats in the shed today and I thought about Hayley.

Not to mention tomorrow will be my first out-of-state vacation in 11 years (last time was Destin, Florida in '94)...that right there is a shock to me!!!
