I am working on a commercial top load SQ washer. I removed the service panel and the machine will fill, agaitae, but no spin. The pump works fine and the belt looks snug.I set it for the final spin w/an empty tub and the motor spindle comes on but the belt doesn't move unless I just touch the tension spring just above the pump. Then it revs up full throttle. I would think the belt is maybe a bit worn and not getting enough tension to spin the tub. Especialy with a full load of wash.I had that happen with the a408 Maytag. The belts were so old, they became real brittle and it worked in a slower speed until I changed and repalced the old belts with new ones.Any info or ideas on what I need to do here would be greatly appriciated.
