Someone might want to check this out. Auction ends on October 10th. Mike The ad reads: Antique Frigidaire Dryer by General Motors Dryer in mint condition. Approximately 50 years old. Dryer works perfect. Ceramic finish all over. Ventless. This is a great antique piece that would look great on display for a store or in someone's home that decorates in 50's retro style. Buyer pick-up in Stockbridge, GA - South of Atlanta. Buyer to pay cash during pick up or paypal before pick up. We will not ship, we will not allow you to send a courier and you send a check of any kind. Winning bidder must pick up in person. CLICK HERE TO GO TO dishwashercrazy's LINK on eBay |

First, should anything happen to the dryer it becomes a game of pointing fingers. Shipper will say the damage was there when they picked it up, seller will say no it wasn't, and then we're off to the races. Next, considering the strange goings on today, would be cautious of letting a bunch of strange men into my home as well. Granted selling things on CL does mean someone is coming over to one's home, but things can be done to mitigate any threat. Being as the last point may be, think the main reason is all the bother and such that comes with a third party shipping service showing up, instead of the buyer themselves. What a REALLY kind, generous and fantastic club memember could do is offer to go complete the deal and either have shippers meet him there and crate it on site, or bring the thing elsewhere for shipping. In any event, the dryer looks wonderful and do hope someone nabs it. L. |
