As best I can tell, that's an 80-series washer, and yes, they look like they're in very nice shape. As to the washer's age - it was made somewhere between 1983 and 1986. One can tell because there is not a model-tag above the left front cabinet foot. 1976-1982 machines had the tag there, but the 1983 and newer machines have it in the lid well. That is Kenmore's 23801 or 23821 washer (most likely the 23801). The only difference in the two being the 23821 had a white porcelain basket whereas the 23801 had the blue speckled. Oddly, the two machines down from these in the line were technically identical except they had three or five water levels to this machine's infinite. Just that water level difference put them in the 70-series line, as they were 23721 and 23741 models. VERY many of these machines were sold. Kenmore sold a lot of washers 1984-1986 due to the economic recovery after a bad slow-down a few years earlier. The 23801 and the 23721 were among Kenmore's best sellers. |
