My frien,Sheryl, and I went out garage and mall shopping today. I found a 1970 Osterizer,a washing machine(front loader) tea pot,A neat glassbake oval casserole,A matching rose teapot that goes with a teacup Sheryl already has at home, and a Prince Albert tobacco tin she said Pete, her boyfriend and my boss, used to put pubic hair he cut off his many girlfriend's "kitties".

We proceded on and I had to get new bags for my Kirby G4. I had coupons from Macy's and went in and got a nice 12 piece anodized cookware set that was on sale for $129. I got it for only $56 after all the discounts!!It's one of the nicest sets of cookware I've had since I left Florida.

We proceded on to go and stop at the Goodwill,Salvation Army and stopped at a used appliance store,Willy's where I found a gorgious maytag A606!!!It's white and needs a little work on the control panel but,it works perfectly!I checked for oil and water leakage and found the jet spray needs attention. Otherwise, the rust beneath the kickplate near the legs needs to be brushed, sanded and refinished. The belts are in good flexible shape and so are the hoses. I'll probably replace the inlet hoses anyway.

I also got a newer (198?) Maytag FabricMatic that works perfectly and is in Mint condition.I ran that one with my queen size sheets and got excelent results!

I paid $10 for both Maytags!!

Earl, the tech at Willy's,met me at my workplace as he and his wife came for propane and some of our smoked ahi we make here in our huge smokehouse. He saw me doing laundry in my A408 and asked what the tattoo of the laundromat washer was about. When I told him my passion for washers,he invited me to the Willy's store.I went there the next day and saw the huge yard and hundreds of machines and carcusses he had there. I went there a few weeks later and was given a top loading Neptune that only needed the mothereboard reconnected!!That unit is now in one of our units(The Library Suite) next to a GE Harmony gas dryer.Bairy, the tech, told me any machines he has there that have not been prechecked or diagnosed, are mine for $5 each!!!As is.So,finaly,I have a new source to get somemore toys to play with!

Sheryl,Knowing I like to name my appliances, suggested I name the washers I got today,May and Tag.I told her I thought that Ruff and Ready were maybe a bit more appropreate. So,Ruff and Ready are my knew additions to my newfangled collection.Eventualy,I plan on replacing the seals and tub brakes on all three models. They're all Helical Drive units and the larger tubs of that era.Two one speed Fabric Matics and one A606 2 speed. All three are snow white. What a nice way to spend a saturday in beautiful aloha weather.
