It has become painfully obvious that things are getting cramped around here, and still have my eye on something in upstate NY. If that comes through then something simply MUST go, and the long and short of it is that it may be the Hoover TT. Especially if one can nab a spin drier from Europe.

With the arrival of the vintage Whirlpool compact washer, much of the need to wash in the Hoover has now been eliminated. Don't get me wrong, do love my little WashDog, but am not blinded to the short comings (tangling, semi-automatic washing, and the noise, oh that noise), which was partially the reason for nabbing the Whirlpool in the first place.

When one speaks with other collectors, no matter what their line is, am told the secret is to sometimes let a thing or two go out of the collection to make room for new items.

Thoughts?

L.

No! Not the Hoover.

Find someone with a garage to store it in. Buy them a nice present! As a unit dweller I have done that in the past.

No matter who you decide will move on, it'll drive you batty! Maybe you can keep it and use it for a nightstand or something inbetween uses!

A "table" currently, covered by a very large cloth, but that still does not free up room! *LOL*

Now, now everyone. It's OK to "let go" and have a good purge once in a while. Makes one feel much better.

I've been in the same situation you are right now. When I found my 1950 Whirlpool, I junked my Hoover TT. I also junked a Maytag wringer to make room for a Rollermatic

Oh I Wouldn't Go So Far As "Junking"

Fully intend to mark up and sell on the Hoover TT, if the worse comes to the worse. One sold locally via CL locally for a decent enough amount. *LOL*

Launderess don't get rid of it just yet. Let things settle in. Hoover as we knew it is OOB... and its been a trusty servant... and you already mentioned its noise is music to your ears :-)

Laundress

Though I have to agree with the others that you should keep it, I would be interested if you decide to let it go...I will give it a good home and take good care of it, but it will get use...Please send me an email should you be interested.

Thanks!

Lady L.

Perhaps this place located on East 125th Street in the Harlem section of Manhattan can be of servive to you in recycling that appliance.

I'm with Mikey. YOU HAVE THE HIGHLY COVETED METAL TUB, A

Just this week, my wonderful sister Lynn, figured out how to store the TT in the front closet. It slid in vertically all the way to the back and the jackets, etc, hang down nicely to the lid, and the coats fit in along side. So does great-uncle Frank's ancient Regina buffer that keeps my parkays mint.

Throw something else out. Not the Hoover. You'll regret it!

Remember, Dearest, you're the angel who found my the new TT, after I ruined the pump on the old broken one. I felt incomplete without a TT. I'll never forget the exquisite narrative you wrote about washday in the Hoove' with a dozen percale sheets. Can you find that glorious missive and re-print it?

Our beloved Mikey across the pond is having a case of the vapors over this. The Laundress without a TT is unconscionable. Egads! The sky is falling. Stop the cataclysm. LOL and chuckling ;'D

The old one, now deceased; no pix of the new Hoove

Are you going to keep your Hoover, Now?

I think and hope that the water on the floor is indeed splash-off. But check for spills during the fill; you could have a tiny hole in the bright red valve.

A body can't make a major decision like giving up a Hoover TT overnight!
