Here's an interesting one - early 50's Hotpoint dishwasher, supposedly well-preserved.

Well, at least he's excited about his treasure - not enough to want to put it in his own kitchen though. These Hotpoint models were high rated by CR in their day, but I guess his wife doesn't want to save an hour of disagreeable work everyday!

$750?! Interesting that his modest, self-chosen appelation contains four letters that describe him so well.

grew up with one of those...

60-80 lbs??? He's got be kidding...the motor alone probably weighed that much. I helped carry ours out when it died, and it had to weigh 150+... It was installed in 1952, when the house was built and used daily until 1973. Noisy, but worked well.

Again, won't hit the price

We may love vintage dishwashers here, but they are of very limited interest. I say $300 tops.

Babble is a scam

This is the same scam that con artists have been doing with cars for years. They offer to send you a check more than what the car (or expensive appliance in this case) is worth. You get the check and cash it, and send the "extra" to some other con artist (or the same guy at a different address). Then a few days later your bank tells you the check is no good. Scam.

Folks, get a certified check, validate it with your bank, and cash out the funds before you ship anything to anyone. ANyone asking to send you more than the purchase price so that you can then send funds to someone else (which is just a preposterous thing anyway you look at it) is running a scam.
