You're not gonna believe this, but ...

This could be one sourced from GE. There wa a point toward the end of the reverse-rack design Jenn Aire sourced lower-end models from GE and put their label on it. Only the top 3 Jenn-Air models were the real, reverse-rack Maytag design. This was like late 1980s.

Jeeze, this machine is about 20 years old! Looks low end as there are no buttons on the control panel. Once hooked up, it'll easily run through 2030 without a repair.

That doesn't look like a plastic tub GE. It's hard to tell from the picture but it looks like a Maytag design...

Beg to differ

#1, look at the timer dial, it screams GE, it's very similar to the 1984 timer dial on the Tappan (made by GE) I had in my 2nd house

#2 It does have buttons on the control panel--a bank of 3 and then a bank of 4 on the left side of the control panel

#3 I saw the Jenn Aire version of these in a showroom here in the late 1980s. Pure GE, no reverse rack layout.

#4 Cosmetically on the outside they were designed to look similar to the rest of the real Jenn Aire and Maytag lines. This was a builders' offered model, value priced.

Bob

Under close examination with a magnifying glass in hand...LOL; I'm really thinking this is a Maytag porcelain tub machine. You can just see the venting centered beneath the control panel. Also, GE did not use foil covered insulation on the tub.

Bob that Maytag is a bare bones reverse rack porcelain on steel tub. It is not made by GE. As far as the Jenn Air dishwashers made by GE that was for 1 year. Then they switched it to all Maytag reverse rack belt drive JetClean dishwashers. The model Maytag that is for sale is a Reverse Rack Direct Drive model. Gawd I wish there was an inside shot.

Well... Differ we must...

You can see better on that picture that I can... ;') MAN! It's bad...

1)That looks like a Maytag Jetclean dishwasher, not a Jennair. Maytag branded dishwashers did not use the GE design.
Jennair used GE dishwashers before being purchased by Maytag. They then went belt drive then direct drive with a ceramic tub. Then they went cheap and used the Magic Chef designed power module with the drain solenoid when they shared the plastic tubs with the Maytag DWU and MDB series units. Eventually they shot that design (thank God!) and shared pretty much everything with the Maytag design units. Today, they are pretty much the same as a Maytag TT but with more features, different cosmetic styling and slightly better warranty.
2)Buttons? In that blurry picture I see the 2 pc. screw together black knob with chrome indicator of a basic model Maytag. You'd pull out or push in to get 'power dry'(heated) or air dry as this one had the fan assy. This one feels like the series that used the direct drive power module that came out right after the belt drive.
3)That looks like a Maytag latch lever.
4)I don't see the usual GE moisture venting port on the left hand side of the console (and those really stuck out on the GE d/w's (and GE designed Jennairs) - big gaping holes) and that isn't the usual GE insulation blanket for those years.
3) The GE's usually had a different kickplate design. That looks like the two piece Maytag design.
4) (piece de resistance... LOL!) Missing are the two undercounter mounting brackets that all GE's had. What >I< see (admittedly it's a really bad picture to base any discussion on... ) is the one piece black bakelite mounting flange where the d/w mounts, the latch latches to and the model number tag is popriveted to. That blasted mounting flange was ALWAYS breaking and letting the unit tip out. Half the time, I had to unscrew the flange just to get the dishwasher out when the customer laid several layers of flooring down in front of it...

This IS a good natured 'disagreement', right? What we all can agree on is that the seller did a piss poor job of picturing the unit and giving any description. Kinda usual for Craig's list. LOL!!!

No worries!

In this day of everyone whoring out their product to others who brand it as their own, it can be a real pill. Hell, even the Salespeople at Sear's have a hard time figuring out who made what... Don't even get me started on the majority of the warm bodies who sell at the big box stores...
