Why do you want a new wave?, the start of hoover going down hill, those horrible plastic tubs.
Each to there own I suppose. . ., there are still alot of them out there so you should get one soon.

I had 2 newwaves in my time. They were brillant. Never gave me an ounce of trouble. I was happier with it than my logic! More entertaining, Front fill, digital, variable temp, spin wash! Fast interm spins, Good cycles! Infact i'd get another!

Darren

I want one as a back up washer, as my dyson is very big and useful for larger loads but, thats the only washer i have. Because my hotpoint wma58p is at aunts as her wm64 broke down 2 years ago, my LG is at grans as about 4 years ago the hoover logic broke down.
So if one loads in the dyson and i need to wash a smaller load at the same time i can use the new wave and maybe my cosin may want the new wave as his wma1510s beko is playing up, sometimes the timer gets stuck....it doesn't reach the temp (eg.60oc or 40oc) and starts to drain wash waster and it uses little amount of water.
Darrens new wave vids r really cool, i've watched all of them- i love the spin wash vid the most as its unique with the new waves from all other washers.

Nice machine!!!

New-Waves are quite nice, I was also impressed by the gun-metal colour of the New-Wave plus (though others call it graphite, metallic pewter, silver), New Waves came in lots of colours (White, Almond, "Gun-metal" silver, green, ivory) which were looked great. And of course the spin speeds were great, 1500 in 1995, which I think is the year of that machine, still looks really modern today. (I think the New Wave Plus range was out at that period with the plus 5's out in 1997)

exactly right ultimafan! I loved the metalic pewter new wave plus. Mums friends upgraded there electrons to the matching new wave pair they invited me round to see it i was amazed!

i also loved the almond ones my friend had an almond 1300 ac178 i think it was. i loved that!

I've owned a white 1300 washer/dryer & a british racing green 1400 washerdryer! Loved them both they were very flexible and effective. Kick myself everytime cause i just wanted a change.

Heres a pic of the white one below!

Were New Wave's true Hoovers or Candy's?

Yea double glazed doors are a pain Richard, i removed the double door off my zanussi and will do with my new zanussi. The hoover wasnt too bad as it was in the garage and was nearest the door so got alot of daylight shinin in luckily.

ultimafan! They were true hoovers. Designed in while the Ecologics were stil in production then followed on in 93!

Darren

Oh yeah

Course Darren

Due to that drum!!!

I didn't know that because they seemed to look so different to Ecologics. But then Hoover pulled off spinwash and other sensations, I don't think Candy could do that.

People are still arguing as to whether Quattro/Performa were Candy or Hoover. I'm going for Hoover, as they looked so much like the predecessors New/Soft Wave, and with spin rinses, they have to be Hoover. Candy's of that time were dull, how could they make these machines which spin rinse?

I think the Hoover Six series was Candy made, I remember looking at pictures side by side of a Six and Candy, I couldn't tell the difference!!!

Performas, quattros were a transition..but i'm certain they were candy. Those drums were the the start of the current hoover/candy drums, the Six models were definately candy!!

LEAVE THE PLASTIC ON THE GLASS!

Hi Darren,
The outer plastic on washer dryers is a safety requirement to protect children burning there fingers on the glass.
During the dry cycle the glass becomes bloody hot!.

Did they make a metallic pewter/gun metal :) wd/td/dw (new wave or crystaljet)?

We used to have the new wave 1100,it ran for 10 years til the computer panel went and it was pretty expensive to repair so we opted for a new machine!! it was a belting machine and i was sorry to part with it
